Looking for something a little different to do in during your Exotic car rental Las Vegas trip than the traditional Vegas Strip? Check out Death Valley National Park! This is a must visit for those of you visiting Las Vegas by car for several days.
What is Death Valley?
The name might make you think twice about choosing this as an Exotic car rental destination in Las Vegas, but don't be fooled, this is one of the most spectacular places in Vegas that shows you the natural beauty of the area. Death Valley National Park has more than 3.3 million acres of stunning desert scenery, interesting and rare desert wildlife, complex geology, undisturbed wilderness, and sites of historical and cultural interest. Bounded on the west by 11,049 foot (3367.74 meters) Telescope Peak and on the east by 5,475 foot Dante's View, Badwater is the lowest point (-282 feet) in the western hemisphere.
During your Exotic car rental Las Vegas drive up to the park, you will notice that Death Valley is a land of extremes. It is one of the hottest places on the surface of the Earth with summer temperatures averaging well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit. At 282 feet below the level of the sea, it is also the driest place in North America with an average rainfall of only 1.96 inches a year!
There are sand dunes, which each day presents the visitor with new patterns, wildflowers, over 900 kinds of plants, and beautiful canyons at the foot of the mountains on either side of the valley. There is even life in Death Valley although survival is a daily struggle in a place where the highest recorded temperature was 134 degrees. Most of the animal life is nocturnal living so you will only see many of these creatures when the sun sets and the heat on the valley floor falls dramatically.
Things to do in Death Valley
There is not only many things to see at Death Valley, there are just as many things you can do! You can mountain bike down roadways, or go hiking or even camping. If you would prefer to have a knowledge guide accompany you through the park you can join a ranger throughout the months of November through April for an Interpretive Program such as a talk, walk, guided hike, or evening program. You may also choose to join a ranger for a costumed living history tour of the historic Death Valley Scotty's Castle. If you golf you can play at a beautiful course at Furnace Creek, which bills itself as the "world's lowest golf course" at 214 feet below sea level!
If your time to visit the park is limited, you may choose to simply go sightseeing in your Exotic car rental in Las Vegas. However, if you really want to see Death Valley, you really need to book your Exotic car rental in Las Vegas for a few extra days. You may consider making a reservation at nearby Furnace Creek Inn or Ranch & then you will have plenty of time to explore the area thoroughly.
